Custom avatar parts would not be realistic. If someone were to join a server with a custom part, the model for that part would have to be sent to the server and then distributed to all of the players.

Or, just have a section/topic where people can submit hat models, and they can be approved and added to the game/declined.

It would only be usable on that server, limiting your customization to that server only.

How avatars currently work is that there is a single model with all the nodes (parts) unhidden (showing) and the game hides certain ones. Say you want a normal blockhead but with a cap.
The game has already hidden hooks, skirt, helmet, etc. but must unhide the cap.

It's hard to explain.

What if someone made a 'universal' mod that you can enter custom hats into?
That way as long as a person owns this 'universal' mod they can see any hat another person made for the mod.
Or I don't know how servers work.
