Author Topic: GTA IV runs fine then drops unplayable  (Read 702 times)

I never had this problem EVER, before.
It's been going on for a week.

So, I play GTA IV (steam) for like, 30 seconds to 5 minutes before it lags unplayable. It basically stops responding then responds with 1 fps, and repeats over and over. It runs perfectly fine at max fps, with high settings. Yes, I tried lowering the settings, view distance, etc. Has this ever happened to anyone before?
Some specs:
Intel(R) Core(TM) 15-2500 CPU @ 3.30GHz
8.00 GB of RAM
64 bit

Edit: Also when I try changing the resolution of the screen it does the same thing ^

Might be heat related. Same thing happened to me a while back.

I agree.
I had this one PC that would run sooo hot you could cook an egg on it, when it got hot it would start messing stuff up like graphics and everything.

Lots of dust on the outside - must be some dust on the fan or something
