Author Topic: Is it me or does the forum make people more self-centered?  (Read 1199 times)

i mean i'm no example either but this is just something i've noticed on and off of the forums

it's a pattern of continuous variations of "hey people look at my stuff"

a prime example here: http://forum.blockland.us/index.php?topic=70050.0

because like, in the minecraft thread, I see someone makes a post that's about some video and then the discussion hops on that, then someone else posts a huge motherloving image and it's somehow completely skipped over

though i suppose this topic's subject and the minecraft thread are two different subjects, they're just some things i've noticed.

I've noticed this a little, but I don't mind it.

The forums would be dull without it

it seems like the most self-centered people are the ones that have a ton of drama surrounding them. Those that tend to be in the background really aren't narcissistic.

I've actually learned to stand up for myself a little more from the forums while remaining generally very kind.

At least IRL, if you don't know me well I think I'm kind of a jerk here.

It gets annoying when other people do it, but I'm a hypocrite so whatev

i've never seen this. if anyone posts anything here we all hop on it like hungry wolves on a lost baby.

I've also noticed that a lot of the older members refuse to use good grammar. I'm not calling you out for how you wrote the OP Kingdaro, this is just something that I see a lot. It's like all the older forumers have huge egos and think they're too good for grammar.

I'm not self-centered at all.  I am perfect in every way and don't even try to question it.

I'm an older member and use good grammar. :(

I like to think of it more as every member has a different writing type and we get used to it and identify them by it
