see i don't like screamo, i think for music to be good you've got to have a bit of constraint, frankly because screaming like a whiny little baby into a microphone doesn't make me want to dance or even register as anything. however i dont like country. too depressing. i don't need that right now.

Twenty years from now; Nicki Minaj will be looked back upon as a fond memory, as real music.
damn but it'll probably happen

I find real music as music that has a damned meaning rather than just screaming stuff into a mic and calling it music. AKA Scremo, I listen to country because like 99.99999999999999999999999999 999999/100 of them tell some sort of story.

Of course you would say that, you're a redneck. I wouldn't expect you to listen to anything else but country. So I'm not sure why I'm going to waste my time telling you that metal songs do have meaning, even though the vocal style is harder. They're not just screaming stuff, the lyrics tell sort of story just like your country music. Country is intolerable to me, due to the southern twang.

A couple examples for you:

The Theft lyrics
Quote
He bends and he breaks
If he gives they will take away
His passion, his pain, his grace

He exhales,
A thousand black flowers explode
Into butterflies as they're away

Rip them out, take them,
Burn coals as they crush him and
Leave nothing
That resembles a soul of a man
(See him numb, see him crushed)
See him numb, See him crushed
Rip them out, take them
Burn to coals as they crush and
Leave nothing
That resembles a soul of a man
(Leave him numb. leave him crushed)
Leave him numb, leave him crushed
Took the fire inside
One too many times
He's burning over and out now,
Now he fails
Up against the raging tides,
No more fights
Everything you ever wanted to see,
See it in his eyes
One more time, one more time

Climb down to test the waters,
My hands feel like they're rusting away yeah,
So I'll pace around like a lamb before the slaughter
I'll stay here as long as you let me,
Decisions been made obvious so I will return
Where I started I'll stay here
Unfinished
I'll wither away

Rip them out, take them,
Burn coals as they crush him
Leave nothing
That resembles a soul of a man
(See him numb, See him crushed)
See him numb, See him crushed
Rip them out, take them
Burn to coals as they crush him and
Leave nothing
That resembles a soul of a man
(Leave him numb, Leave him crushed)
Leave him numb, leave him crushed

It Dies Today
Come Undone - Lyrics
Quote
Mine, immaculate dream made breath and skin
I've been waiting for you...
Signed, with a home tattoo
Happy birthday to you...
Was created for you

Can't ever keep from falling apart at the seams
Can't I believe you're taking my heart to pieces

Oh, it'll take a little time
Might take a little crime to come undone now

We'll try to stay blind
To the hope and fear outside
Hey child, stay wilder than the wind
And blow me in to cry
[ Lyrics from: http://www.lyricsmode.com/lyrics/i/it_dies_today/come_undone.html ]
Who do you need, who do you love...
When you come undone?

Words, playing me deja vu
Like a radio tune I swear I've heard before
Chill, is it something real
Or the magic I'm feeding off your fingers

Can't ever keep from falling apart at the seams
Can I believe you're taking my heart to pieces

Lost, in a snow-filled sky
We'll make it alright to come undone now

We'll try to stay blind
To the hope and fear outside
Hey child, stay wilder than the wind
And blow me in to cry

Who do you need, who do you love...
When you come undone?

don't get me wrong- i love metal, but i don't like screaming most of the time because i can't understand what they're saying, and most of the stuff i hear doesn't even sound good.

however it's because everybody i know takes musical advice from hot topic and likes most of the new bullstuff.

but, i have some songs i like, so i'm not completely slashing anything out.

Nicki Minaj - Stupid Hoe Lyrics
Quote

 [Hook]You a stupid hoe, you a, you a stupid hoe [x3]
You a stupid hoe, (yeah) you a, you a stupid hoe You a stupid hoe, you a, you a stupid hoe
(stupid, stupid) You a stupid hoe, you a, you a stupid hoe
(you stupid, stupid) You a stupid hoe, you a, you a stupid hoe
(you stupid, stupid) (stupid, stupid)

nicki minaj sings about herself ;D
a skill-less overpowered celebrity with no reason to be recognized other than the fact that most teenagers think ghetto is cool, therefore dressing like dumbasses and listening to stuffty music.

also known as "a stupid hoe"

I understand that the screaming is a major deterent for many people, and I know many metal listeners who don't care for the lyrics since they can't understand them anyway. That isn't to say the lyrics don't mean something though, which is all I was trying to point out.

Sometimes, the music just evokes emotion and passion into the listener, at least it does into me a lot of times. That's why metal shows are often the most energetic of any live show. Then, on another level, the listener can take a look into the lyrics and see that story is being told, poetry is being written, and a message is being conveyed. At least, this is the case with most if not all of the metal I listen to.

and 99.9~/100 are either about their beer belly or how their wife left them.

At least one reason I don't like country is most of them are in no way actually country and
now continue posting 50s - 80s music

lol i like depressing music. i think it helps with being in a sad mood.

ANYWAYS, trifax, i listened to the songs you posted lyrics for, and i like them. i guess i just needed to look deeper than "oh look the newest screamo band. 10$ says they suck." which nowadays it's true, but that was great. so i really can't say anything bad about screaming, as it's great when used correctly.

It depends on the artist. The real country singers sing about real life and what not.
Dirt Road Anthem - Jason Aldean, that song talks about how his life used to be nicer and he talks about the old dirt roads and such.
Most songs talk about moonshine in some point of it, but I know a lot bout country because its what I was raised on. Don't listen to one song and say all musics like that.

SAINTS ROW 2 RADIO
I've heard this before, it's always fun finding the real songs from video game radios.

Don't listen to one song and say all musics like that.

Learn to take your own advice. I recognize that not all country stuff, just most of it. I recommend you not classify all metal as stuff just because of the hard vocals.
