Author Topic: I think I bricked a distortion pedal.  (Read 746 times)

I was playing pretty damn loud earlier today, and forgot to turn the volume down, so I walk in like 30 minutes ago and turn on my speaker system thingy and it hear this loud screech. realizing it's the guitar I turn down the volume the whole way. Now, I start playing, only the pedal sounds different, it sounds more like a Bit Cruncher and has this "twang" sound whenever I hit a string. Now, the battery is also low and I don't have more, so it might be that, but I'm not quite sure.

Anyone have any guesses?

Unplug it and plug it back in.

Also I don't have the Powah Supply.

TAKE ADVANTAGE OF IT. That would be great for some psychadelic riffs. :cookieMonster:

Reset it. And by that I mean 0 everything, take out battery, and then put battery back in and reset values. Could be the battery though, makes more sense.

The problem is that you're using a distortion pedal to begin with.

I'm going to buy a WahWah soon.

That's not what I mean. Use a tube amp and natural tube distortion/overdrive.

I'm not spending money one new tubes every year.

Wait. Actually I might, because that Peavey Amp I'm looking at has tubes.

I'm realizing that I'm anticipating spending a lot pretty soon, probably not a great thing.

Tubes last longer than a year if you treat them right. Besides, it's worth it. The sound is vastly superior.
