Ever wanted to build a fort in a trench TDM without handicaps making potholes and destroying your builds? This is the server for you. It's the Trench TDM, without the TDM part. You can build forts and what-not in an organized manner, no potholes, no griefing, no spam.
-- Why?
Honestly, because I'm tired of griefers and potholes myself.
-- How?
Works like a Trench TDM, but:

• No weapons.
• A digging area to prevent random holes/potholes.
• Admins can build with bricks (but sparingly)
• Well set rules. You can find these ingame.

Ocasionally, events might happen:

• Changes in weather/lighting (we're talking about adjustable plate here)
• Temporary use of weapons (everyone gets bored of building at some moments, this is just temporary fun)

I am currently looking for a better hoster, but in the mean while, I will host it when I can.

We have had a crash caused by trying to change the ambient sound in adjustable plate. Multiple changes on some builds have been lost. I'm sorry for that. The server will be back up in a few minutes.

EDIT -- I haven't had any replies yet. The server will remain down for a while while I get myself one of those server status things. Waiting for replies and opinions.

I have to agree with bubbler
It's a alright idea but people are just going to get too bored with building.
All they want to do is turn BL into COD.

I'm trying to think of ideas to help you out, but I have none right now.

I will add weapons, maybe even start a race, but rarely. I kinda specified that in the op. Just temporary fun when the stuff gets boring.

Edit -- Added server status thingie. Also, seeing as people don't think it's a good idea just yet, I'll wait for suggestions before rebooting the server.

I was thinking you could have 3 sections. 2 of them being secure areas to build, and one being a killing field. But that would eliminate the purpose of building forts.

Yeah, pretty much. Maybe you have a build period of 20 minutes before a 30 minute fight starts?

That would be a good idea, except I would make it less time like 10 or 15 minutes to build before a 30 minute fight.
That way the builders have just enough time to build and you also avoid losing peoples attention

I'd be willing to help with other things but hosting I could not do.

1) My computer isn't usually on 24/7 (Though I have done 24/7 hosting)
2) My internet is not good.

I do have a map right now, but it's not exactly made for a TDM.

Not the impression I got at Glass's Trench DM.

If you want hosting you are going to have a hard time finding someone who will do it for you for nothing. If you want to have as much control on the server environment as you are suggesting in your OP, it'll be hard if someone else is hosting it for you anyway.

I have to agree, but maybe someone has nothing to host? I don't know, but a hoster with more experience would be of help. And, on the second part, be certain that if I follow the idea mentioned earlier, which I will, the little special events will be removed (but map variation will remain because awesome :D). If no hosters are found, I'll just host it myself. When I can. Right now, I'm waiting until Slayer is avaible for helping me.
