Deleting a file [solved]

I am trying to delete a file using the functions:

%file.openForAppend("Config/client/AdamBot/Learning/" @ %word @ ".txt");
%file.delete();
But that only deleted the file OBJECT, I want to delete the file itself.

the delete method generally does what the name implies. it deletes the object it's called on.
