Well I suppose a lion could run over the top of it but what would be the point in that?

Lion's the newest one, right?
maybe? I don't know how demanding OSX is

or for that matter, how good your computer is

what's your current os

you own a mac so you must have a lot of money
just get a new one instead of paying for Lion alone

...It costs only $30 and I'm 12 years old.

Just because he has an expensive object doesn't mean he's rich.

Lion only costs $30?
wtf
it must be cheap because you're upgrading or something
either that or Apple's decided to break trends

that doesn't mean it's bad to assume it
if someone has linux I either assume they're running a server, doing something technical, or are poor
if someone has OSX I either assume they're rich, an artist, or a hipster
if someone has Windows I either assume they're into gaming, or are just your average joe

This sounds unbelievable, but it's available in their app store. Yeah.

you have Snow Leopard, right?

"Your Mac must have an Intel Core 2 Duo, Core i3, Core i5, Core i7, or Xeon processor to run Lion. Find out if your current Mac has one of these processors by clicking the Apple icon at the top left of your screen, then choosing About This Mac."
I think you're going to have to miss out on Lion, Macs are pretty particular about hardware, and everything else for that matter

Mac OS upgrades are surprisingly cheap considering how expensive everything else about them is.
