Author Topic: Things you hate seeing in builds  (Read 3210 times)

They look kind of bad on single builds, but they are fine in big city builds and DM's and the such.

Um, I don't get it.

Whatever, you're entitled to an opinion.

If you want to make just one house and want it to look good, it looks worse with jvs windows, but in big city builds its a pain to build every window and in DM's no one cares enough.

flat houses made of 2x1 bricks

3. Any buy weapon system
Massive handicaps until you endure painful death over and over again with a few kills here and there? No thanks.
Holy stuff man I know how you feel. And it's always those DMs that are copiously popular like glasses stuff trench one. If you join late you literally can't do anything because everyone already has OP as stuff guns.

flat houses made of 2x1 bricks
houses made of 2*1 bricks that people try and pass off as actual "brick".

When somebody builds a host, duplicates his house 20x, and turns it into a "famly rp"

Boxes, with 1x1x5's for walls.

Every single sign being a ? that you click - Can't you just spell it out with prints?

Fire emitter on a 32x32 baseplate.

PropSystem anything. The house props are fine, just not Prop System.

Well it depends on what you want to say, I mean theres times when a sign with a ? is fine when the content of words in the button is a paragraph or something. And no one is going to spell out a whole sentence in prints.
But if it's like a sign, as in 'General Store', it should rather be spelt out then put into a sign.

Bad terrain builds

I mean, come on people, Minecraft can do it 5x better than most people on this forum can, so just learn from it.

Overuse of Symmetry (Except mirror builds)

invisible bricks holding up entire floors of a building, or roofing that magically floats.

this isnt to say your built flying machine or floating island cant use invisible bricks as supports.
but for a ground build, there is no excuse for not building with lego rules of physics.

When people overuse lava as a pit trap. I've seen it so much in deathruns, falling platforms, etc. it got cliche so quickly. I've seen acid, spikes and even pink chemicals, but lava is just overused. If you're going to use lava, just please make sure it at least matches the environment.

This.

I'm guilty of that :S

Mm, same.

I personally dislike boring rooves.
A plain baseplate on top isn't very interesting and even if the rest of the building is grand in design I can't help but see it as poor.
But then sometimes I dislike rooves that don't quite work out. Often I'll see on a square house, where someone would normally just place down another baseplate for a roof, they've put a pyramidal roof made of ramp bricks.

It's just in those circumstances it doesn't look right to me and just makes me cringe. Which is annoying, because I've done it before now.
