Author Topic: Uploading Prints/Images for Our Characters  (Read 545 times)

I am not exactly sure how the BL server works, although I am guessing that the image/print would have to be uploaded to the server so we could we all see it.

Idea: Badspot should let us upload shirt images or prints for our characters, he could have the MB size limits and all of that.

Question: Would allowing us to upload images make the loading time much slower than it already is?

Depends entirely on how big the file is/how many people on the server.

If its done like mine craft skins where its about 20kb for the file, it wont cause any massively noticeable concerns on a broadband connection.

But if it was a full HD RAW file at about 20-400Mb then yes :P

Honestly, because of this I only use the default faces and decals so people can see them. They're high quality, and they fit the Lego theme. I don't want to join a server, and see someone's crappy decal that looks like it's from 1996 and converted from a .bmp.

If anything, there should be a new face or decal once on a blue moon, with the new launcher and everything.

I was thinking about how it'd be nice to have icons/decals that other people have made but everyone can see, but then I realized people could make obnoxious stuff so it wouldn't be that good.

I never use anything but default faces/decals anyway, so people can see them.

How do your custom decals appear to other people who don't have them? Are they replaced with default decals?

Faces are the default face and shirt decals are just blank shirts

I don't think anyone would make anything inappropriate. Who the hell would spend their time making that, I doubt we would be able to depict what it is either way because of how small our torso's are.

An admin could always kick the idiot.

Yeah. People could build inappropriate things even more easily than they could make decals of them, but people don't do that for fear of getting banned or dramaed.
