Author Topic: Blockland Tips  (Read 3074 times)

I hope that this topic is full of helpful information on Blockland.
Sorry that some sections are currently a work in progress.  It's not like I was going to spend all day making this topic.
Also, I've never really made add-ons, plus some of these tips might not be top notch, so any tips of your own are welcome.

Preventing Getting Banned/Kicked
1. Don't keep annoying admins by shooting them with a gun add-on that you've never seen before.  This defies you as a noob.
2. Don't keep begging for admin.  This also defies you as a noob.
3. Build on baseplates.  Not building on a baseplate is considered spam.
4. Don't spam with your build (too many 1x1s, 1x1fs, 1x1x5s, etc.).  This is, DUH, also considered spam.
5. Listen to anything that the admin says.  Self explanitory.
6. Don't call admins stupid.  Self explanitory.
7. Don't call the server stupid.  If it's stupid, just leave.
8. Don't click on something when a wrench is pointed at it.  This makes you look like an idiot.

Most Important Tip Ever
This is Blockland, don't expect anything from reality.

More tips coming soon!

You're going to run out of room.

anyway i guess this could be useful if you wanted to get started modding but there are individual forums for this already

Interesting.

Aren't you the one who did the BL news thing?

I wouldn't do the Map section, considering they are going to be removed in v21 anyways.

V21 is an unknown amount of time away.
He could keep it up for now and then come V21 remove it, giving the OP more room.

For the music the OP should include the fact that it requires a mono .ogg vorbis file.
I roostered up for ages in just trying to test if I can put music into Blockland because for the longest time I kept forgetting it needs to be mono.
I was making a stereo .ogg so it wouldn't work.

Also, perhaps a suggestion on any tools that could be used?
Preferably free but you could list one's that require payment.
For example, Audacity is quite good for when making music loops.

I'm going to see what I can do.

Why, yes I was.

Once V21 comes along, it will be edited for specifically slate maps, as long as at least those are aloud.
And I'll add that to the music section later.

oh boy you're gonna need a hell of a lot more space

also majority of post should go in modification discussion.

Why, yes I was.

I'm confident that this will go well, in that case.

Maps are not planned to go away.

The only reason Blockland News failed was because it ran out of space.
