What a great way to win an argument.

What a great way to win an argument.
That's really what most apologists do. Basically, see no evidence, hear no evidence, speak misinterpreted bible verses.

'God prefers a kind atheist to a cruel theist'

now pass that off as a bible verse

It absolutely infuriates me when people use complexity as an argument for a creator. Complexity is stuffty design, any engineer will agree with that.

Oh well. I guess I won't be able to communicate with him anyway.

Why would you want to communicate with them? They're constantly lying about the age of the earth, DNA and whatnot.

I guess it's pretty interesting seeing how a grown man reacts to having a deep-rooted faith challenged. Seeing someone try to rationalize something blatantly unrational is a bit silly. It's why arguing with theists about the existence of their god is a bit like arguing with a 5-year-old about the existence of Santa Claus. Except 5-year-olds cant disguise their argument as intelligent.

It doesn't matter that they believe in god, it matters that they're wrong.

Worry not, faith is dying in the United States. Slowly, but increasing in speed and magnitude. I actually helped one of my friends deconvert.
