Author Topic: Shadows and shaders = Minecraft blockland style?  (Read 1406 times)

What if we could have a procedual generation system ( sorry if its already there but if it is i could be improved to work like MC's system.) Then we can have unlimited maps like before

( this posted is gonna be hated upon like my other ones right?)

Well, this has been brought up before. I'm fairly sure with all of these fancy terrain generators we'd eventually be able to make one that procedurally generates terrain.

I have also seen before a procedural ghosting system which only only ghosts bricks within a radius. This'd be nice but I think the fact that shadows are supposed to motivate us to build our own stuff makes this a bit ironic.

I believe it was stated that when shaders are released, there's going to be some sort of system allowing modders to create their own custom shaders.

Do want

brian smith and port are making this

Do want

This means Film Noir shaders, black and white shaders and stuff

Im working out bugs in my generator

Its not minecraft style, some games before had terrain generation.

the terrain generation system in blockland would look like stuff, and for it to actually look nice, it would lag a lot.

I just don't like how terrain generators take up brick limit..

[]----[] and I (mostly []----[] haha) are working on a generator that makes efficient infinite terrain :D

currently it can make a pretty decently sized landscape using <2k bricks :D
