I have no idea why they're delaying the release. My only guess is that it's not ready yet but like you said, it wouldn't make sense for them to release them at different times just because one version isn't done.

I'm curious as to how the one trailer of heller and mercer fighting fits into the story.
Even though I played absolutely zero attention to the story in the first one and skipped through every cutscene.

I paid like 105% attention to the story in Prototype and I don't really get it either. lol
