Author Topic: Three Team Beach Landing KOTH  (Read 1995 times)

Basically me and a friend, Mr.Kitkat, wanted to build something yesterday evening. A day later, a damn near finished build is here

Ariel shot showing all 3 team spots and the C130 that moves on it's own

The pillbox

One of the lvcps

This build has ambience! If you want to download and listen to a direct recording of the sounds, click here.
Basically three teams try to capture the pillbox for the longest time they can. I plan on hosting fairly soon.

How do you make the C-130 move?

Also I like the idea.

Very squarish. You should have varied up the actual island shape while keeping it symmetrical, radially. Also, the terrain is repetetive to get up and around, and walking really isn't much of an option here.

6/10 could be much improved. Also should be a tad larger; the team spawns are awfully close.

I could improve on that pretty easily, most of the terrain wasn't done by me and the sand can be easily added onto.

Mostly jumping. That's the only way to do it with brick terrain and I'm not using [gsf]ghost's bricks.

Plates for it to drive on and lots of delayed onvehiclespawn - vehicle - addvelocity

Er, you could have done the terrain with normal bricks rather than cubes only. Usually you can achieve the same effect but more functionality with plain bricks.

Of course, it's not a bad idea to combine the two, but it can get clunky in some spots where you can't walk up.

Also I know about the jumping, I was commenting on the fact that it's not that easy to navigate the terrain. I've made plenty of these types of TDM-style builds before.

Huh, thats odd, I can't get those events to work on mine.

Do you think you could help some? I'm pretty new to terrain, Legopepper has just recently shown me some good tips using cubes only.

Look at Althur, specifically the brick terrain on (and next to) the cliff in the first pic. Its 100% walkable.

If you'd like a bigger picture, quote this post and remove the width=# in the (img) tags. I don't post it full size cause its about 2100xsomething and would pagestretch like stuff. Use Post Preview.

Looks...too... symmetrical. Needs more variation in the terrain :C

go post in the actual topic instead please. I don't want to be a topic hijacker (again)

I usually tend to zones for moving planes around, and just make the velocity high enough so you don't need playes to drive on.
Look at those ugly wheel dirt kickup things. Ew.

Players don't pilot it.
