Author Topic: Where/What type of server do i use to send and recieve data  (Read 2362 times)

Well it would have to work like this:
Client sends message,
Message is received by server,
Server sends it to the recipient,
Recipient receives the message.

If you want it all in one language then you will have to do it in Torque, and for this to be ran you will need to have blockland running 24/7.

...So I'm wanting this to work even if players are at a different server or not in a server at all, basically how Ephi's RTBConnect chat works..

So basically an IRC chat.

Easiest way I can think of is using a website hosted on something like HelioHost so you can have php/cPanel access. Ask Brian Smith for help with game/siteserver communication.

so you want an instant messaging thing, wonderful.
we already have one, whats the point?

learning
it would be cooler if he made something useful like saving trading or some stuff

No i was using this as an example, it has nothing to do with instant messaging.

Anyone else know a server or website i can use to send data from and to other clients?

Why don't you tell us WHAT YOUR ACTUALLY loving DOING

Brian, stop being a richard
Just help him

Brian, stop being a richard
Just help him
The amount of help that can be given is limited by the very small amount of information he is providing

True, but Brian is still being a richard

He has been pming me too.

you could try to manage it by sending data through rtb chat
not sure what the delay is on rtb chat messages though

Really? Rtb chat? No. I need probably a website so one client sends something to the server and it relays it to all other clients who have the mod. Guess i have to wait for ephi to take a peek in here..
