Author Topic: What's it like to be drunk?  (Read 3396 times)

i have a hangover right now.
and i'll tell ya
it sucks.

no. you dont lose your memory when you are drunk. and blacking out is like far beyond drunkenness, you would need to be on the verge of alcohol poisoning for that to happen.
wait. are we talking about blacking out or passing out?

Quote
A blackout is a phenomenon caused by the intake of alcohol or other substance in which long term memory creation is impaired or there is a complete inability to recall the past. Blackouts are frequently described as having effects similar to that of anterograde amnesia, in which the subject cannot create memories after the event that caused amnesia. 'Blacking out' is not to be confused with the mutually exclusive act of 'passing out', which means loss of consciousness.

Cause a Black-out isn't that hard to achieve. I've had 4, and I don't even drink very often. And yes: you do lose your memory. You don't have to be on the edge of poisoning. In fact, your body will most likely vomit out the alcohol way before it gets poisonous.

people speak their minds more, and have less motor skills, but they arent completely out of control.
Again, I disagree. It all depends on the level of intoxication. It is very possible to lose control of your body. You don't even have to drink that much to start hitting random objects and fall to the ground for no reason. And don't even talk about tasks like riding a bike...

different people have different levels of tolerance when it comes to alcohol

you might not have to drink much to start hitting random stuff, some other people no doubt have to

same thing

i already said less motor skills. read better.

losing control of your mind is what im referring to.

god damn we have some dumb mother forgeters here

It's fun until you have to stand up.
Then it's not so fun when you're walking around.
Then it's scary when you drive a vehicle home.

I've been drunk before, that was the exact progression of events.
Before you ask, the vehicle in question was a 4 wheeler and I was at a party at a lake with drunk college students, who somehow thought giving a 14 year old 2 beers and 2 shots of whiskey was a good idea.

I read. You said "completely out of control" directly after talking about motor skills. Of course I thought you were talking about motor skills and not mentally.
Write better.

same thing
according to the quote from Wiki it's not. Blackout=memory loss, passing out=complete loss of consciousness.

op is an idiot.

i'm the sort of drunk that either falls asleep or is indistinguishable from not drunk people.

wait

is this guy literally implying he wants someone to be infinitely drunk?

is this guy literally implying he wants someone to be infinitely drunk?
That's not even possible?

it's amazing fun if you're with a good group of people that all care about each other

horrible if you're not.
This.

You'll feel happier unless you're alone.  When I was with my friends we kept giggling incoherently over stupid things and talking about stuff we really keep to ourselves.  Be prepared to accidentally drop any secrets unless you've got a strong will.  You'll also be more prone to say something stupid (to this day my friends bug me about how I stared up at the night sky and said "Pretty crazy world we live in guys...").

no. you dont lose your memory when you are drunk.
Pretty much this too.  I remember the whole night.  Also took me a forget long time to properly spell out a text to my friend.  Somehow I was able to call my parents too and coherently say "Happy new years mom and dad!  Hope you guys are having fun."

you know that game is rated M right?
Rated "M" for "Mommy bought it for me"

It's just great.
Now, it can be fun; but drink responsibly.  Drunk driving is a serious problem.
