My First Bad Quiz Grade, What To Do?

Heyo guys. Last Wednesday, I believe, I received both a quiz and a test in L.A. that we had took. On the test that was worth 42 points I think I got 39 points which is fairly decent, about a 93%. But on the quiz I was shocked to see that I got a a 13 out of 20 points, which is 65% and a D. My teacher said that all people that got a D or lower on the test or quiz have to get it signed by their parents. I never have gotten a grade like this only when it was those impossible quizzes we took in the 6th grade that made no sense and were extremely difficult. This quiz was also very difficult and required you to memorize several things. I'm nervous about telling my parents about this grade because I'm afraid they'll yell at me and possibly punishing me for not doing well. Any suggestions on how to tell them would be nice. Also feel free to share any times you got a bad grade on a test or quiz.

If most of your test grades are A's and such, don't worry to much about it won't drag your grade into a pit.

just show them and reach a fair compromise
if they don't let you speak interrupt them and tell them to allow you to speak
being grounded just means you're away from technology so you can study more

Just because it's average doesn't mean it should be acceptable.  That's miserable.

Get it signed. Let them yell at you if they want. If you've been doing so well until now, I recommend and subsequently do not recommend that you lower your grades. Get them used to low grades that they wouldn't have such high expectations of you. Makes life easier. The catch is the GPA thing you guys are talking about though.

Wow, that went better than expected. I showed my dad the both the quiz and the test so I could make up the badness of the quiz with the goodness of the test. He said that I was unprepared and that I should limit my computer time so I can study the material for next time. So I'll make sure definitely do that so I don't cause any trouble.
