It was that zombie mod that is on Garage Games Experiment.
He needed help to gather avatars, and made that challenge so people don't get bored as hell while being on the server I guess.

If that server IS Badspot's... could he be the mysterious console man? (only those who have been on the server know what the console man is, by the way.)

the console man is the server's host on a dedi caue you can chat through the dedi console
