11 months :(

mine might be coming out monday, only been a year and three months compared to the expected 2 - 3 years

i have to wear the rubber bands 27/7
also fff the metal thing at the top of your mouth

>rip out all your teeth
???
>dont need braces any more!!!

Now I have these ridiculous rubber bands. One goes from the top back right molar to the front bottom tooth. The other one runs from the top front tooth to the bottom left back molar. I have to wear these at night and last night was my first night wearing them. I woke up at about 3 a.m. and they hurt so bad that I said "Screw it I'm not wearing them tonight" so I just took them off.
I hated those rubber bands, so I was crazy enough to take an alternative option. The orthodontist attaches these two instruments in your back teeth. I don't know what it was called.

I had  a major overbite, so they gave me this thing called a Herbst appliance- basically 2 metal poles connected to my molars. They moved so I could move my mouth up and down, but that's about it. Not too fun, and I got called "Terminator" at least a couple of times. Also, sometimes one of the bars got stuck :(

After you get the braces off they make you wear a retainer for the rest of your life. If you don't wear it for the rest of forever, your teeth will go back to the way they were.

Isn't that fun?

i had to have 3 baby teeth pulled

i'll be getting mine off in july, so i don't have long left. every time i go, though, they bend the wires slightly to make minor changes and even those hurt. last time i went, they added 2 new hooks so i could wear my rubber bands like a triangle and the lady's nails were too long so they kept digging into my gums.

despite the rubber bands being 'super heavy', they still manage to break every hour or two.
