Author Topic: Strange computer actions, and cant use Google.  (Read 1468 times)

For some odd reason my computer has been acting rather strange after working perfectly for a year.

First I get strange popups that lead to a website called news canary, on any internet browser.Second, I keep getting notifications from avg telling me it found a Trojan virus and when I remove it it says it was already removed, third my processor has been overheating a bit recently and I get windows warning messages.Fourth serious computer lag and massive slowdown on youtube.Fifth....Possibly the worst one of all...
My computer is restricting me access to Google, it keeps redirecting me to a https version of Google then blocking me so I'm being force to use yahoo or Bing on any browser I use.

Is it a virus?MY internet has been acting really strange lately too always saying its trying to connect to an unknown network address. Also I am running
Windows XP SP3 Professional Edition with AVG Internet Security 2012.

Processor: Intel Pentium 4 531 on Socket 775 LGA at 3.00gh

Note :The core voltage is normal but the clock speed is lowering fast when this massive lag happens and then it speeds up allot.

Anything suspicious looking in your processes? If you're not sure then just Ctrl+Alt+Del and print screen the task manager.

Bump I can access websites with their ip for know, all I found was a trojan but I keep finding more and more, should I try superantispyware?

I'm trying to download from http://www.superantispyware.com, can anyone tell me if this site is real or if its BS because I dont want to get screwed even more now that I got a site redirecting virus.

Malwarebytes, Spybot, your AV + AfterDawn if doesn't work. Worked for me several times. Superantispyware is cool.

The problem is I don't know if I'm getting redirected to a phising website or not.
I don't want o risk getting it worse, The only reason I can access the forums is because I'm browsing using ip addresses I get using cmd and ping.

Have you checked your hosts file?
Do you run an OS that requires defragging? Think FAT or NTFS partitions do. If you don't defrag bad things will happen.
Have you gone to safe mode, unplugged the internet and done a long virus scan?

unplugged the internet and done a long virus scan?
Do this too.

Go to safe mode(networked)(press f8 lots of times before windows boots) and Download Malwarebytes(if you can)
Than do a scan
