Author Topic: Question about a fire add-on?  (Read 1642 times)

I used to have an add-on that when you used the item on a brick a fire would be started. Some bricks would be singed and some would be destroyed. Also any bricks above the destroyed bricks would collapse. It's no the Slayer mini-game. In fact i don't think you needed to be in a mini-game to use it. If someone could give me a link to this (a working link would be preferable) please show it in a comment.

I do believe that its called Fire mod, it was created by Zor, and this was failed add-on in the past, but I do have ipquarx script his own Fire mod just like Zor did, you can ask him if you would like.

why was it failed?

i loved firefight on beta city

This is not correct, but close.

There were two firemod versions. The original, created by Zor, would attach itself to bricks and spread slowly over an indiscriminate area until the build was completely destroyed. This was available during 2008 and was later ported. It came in the form of a 'fire wand' and a 'fire hose'.

A later mod created by Halcynthis during late 2010 is the one the OP is talking about. This spread at a much quicker rate, and would 'singe' some bricks and destroy others. It would not spread to baseplates. It was much less laggy and bricks would often explode when destroyed. This mod was significantly better because builds were more realistically damaged and you could be left with a burned shell, where as Zors destroyed everything.

Hals cam with a 'bucket' and a 'match box'.

Unfortunately Hals mod is extremely hard to find, I've lost my copy. Zors firemod can be located with a quick Google.

My friend chrisbot6 made a revised one.
it fixed most of the problems and added some new stuff (plug-in firehoses, fire/waterbombs, etc)

I remember Hal's mod, and I remember how pissed I was when i found out the range of the bucket

Might have it, i'll dig around a bit.

EDIT: Looked through some old addon folders; no go :c

i'll keep looking; i have random backups in a lot of places.

and functions like this ^ except it was the original version of the mod with a generic extinguisher and firestarter

I believe my mod is slightly edited, if you notice any differences tell me and I'll fix

Well I remember on the initial release it had a really stuff bucket mod and he was nagged to change it. I'm not aware of any betas.

Thanks for link, will try.

EDIT:  Yes I noticed a change, you broke it. No datablocks added, doesn't work at all.

Not working for me either :(

Does the one Lugnut posted require Slayer to work?
