"which was used for cleaning steel"im guessing it was hydrochloric acid, as its a common acid used in fabricating and cleaning.ive got heaps of hydrochloric acid and [nitric acid].i have burned myself many times lol. it is NOT fun. that stuff dosnt rinse off so quickly.
