How do I do that, I can't find Tolerance anywhere.
press the wand tool, and there should be a half filled bar at the top. Drag it down to zero, press the background and delete it.

Ok, Im pretty sure I did it right.

I am victorious!

Any ideas/tips for a beginner like me?

I don't consider these as much 'art' as O consider them 'sprites'

If I could, I would use an 8-bit/16-bit color palette. Like Commodore 64.

Lines aren't needed, especially with larger pixels.
Don't make all your lines a certain color. Try making it a darker version of the color on the inside.

Because pixel art is an excuse to make horridly abstract and unrecognizable things right??
That's what most "pixel artists" seem to think
