When making tiles, what would the best size for each of them be?

that really depends on how what size your other pixel art is.
5x5, 10x10, 20x20, how much can you do with a certain amount of space, and what about how big is an average tile relative to your own characters?

i usually do 32x32

35x35 would be the best decision for me here, thanks

okay this is annoying

can someone teach me how to correctly make brick tiles

What kind of tiles? Like a set of tiles all in one image or just individual?
Like this?

In order:

Start orb, Games, Creativity, Maintenance, Media, Office.

how do you make a computer decide that an image is an icon?

I mainly had another concept for everything, basically using a 3-square grid like Games, Creativity worked great for that, but I had no way to make use in the same method for the other 3, unfortuantely.
But I think the Media icon is quite fine.

Also if anyone wonders how is that supposed to work; it doesn't open a folder, this happens:

They also work well with the Windows Shortcut Hotkeys which is good (Windowskey+Number)
