Author Topic: A question about hosting  (Read 945 times)

I was wondering if what it says in the port forwarding info (when you press F1 in game and look at the section that tells you how to host a server) still applies. When you port forward, do you really have to set the two ports to how many players you want to have on your server? Would I forward 28000 to 28000 or 28000 to 28032?
I've had rather sketchy hosting ever since v20. Sometimes SOME people could join, but most of the time no one ever could, and it would show up as ping --- on the server list (not just to me, I know this). I was wondering if you could answer the above question and also help me with making my server... well, work.

28000-28000 is all you need.

Would you have any idea why it isn't working properly? I followed the extensive tutorial.

Bump, because I posted this topic to get help.

is UpnP enabled?
Pretty sure, I can't start blockland as of now to make sure.

Either only use UPnP or only use Port Forwarding.

Did not know of this.

Go down the the start menu and run "cmd.exe"
Type "ipconfig" into it and press enter.
Forward your ports the the "IPv4 Address"

Note: Your IPv4 Address randomly changes.

My IPv4 Address is 192.168.1.103 so my ports would look like this.

How about next time you read the blockland.us tutorial yourself?

I did. When I change the internet protocol my internet breaks for some reason.
This way is jyst as easy.

Better to be "both" in case anyone installs Remote Control in the future.

Either only use UPnP or only use Port Forwarding.
So... apparently it still doesn't work when I use this advice. I think I'll run through that extensive tutorial again sometime soon.

Note: Your IPv4 Address randomly changes.

You only have to set up a static ip.
