I've had stuff like that happen before. I would wake up and say something stupid then try something stupid.

I've woken up in a few different places I don't understand.
I went to bed... Woke up in my dads truck
Went to bed on couch.. Wake up with a leash tied to the table (wtf happened?)
Wake up in the dirt
I've woken up in other places that I can't remember.

the way I see it a dream is basically a hallucination, but it's normal. But when you start dreaming/hallucinating while awake...You might want to see a doctor.

REM wake ftw?
also, I've seen real night terrors, you don't remember them at all apparently.
