Author Topic: Port Forward Mistake?  (Read 1211 times)

I created a static IP address for 192.168.1.45. I went to my router's website then set up a wireless connection for it.

--Blockland 28000 -to- 28030 [Both TCP & UDP] 192.168.1.45 [Enabled]

And when I start Blockland to start a server, I set in advanced settings the router connection thingy to 28000. But when I start my server it's like Failed to find External IP address when I start a dedicated, and it does nothing at all when I start a regular server.

make sure your IP is indeed 192.168.1.45

Disable UPnP? I tried that once on doing my Dedicated Server but it just skipped the process of checking for an internet connection. Will that really help?

"But when I start my server it's like Failed to find External IP address when I start a dedicated" ~ This only shows up if you have UPnP enabled. Turn UPnP off.

Also, make sure to add an exception if you have Windows Firewall or any personal firewall software.

Still dosen't work. I tried to disable UPnP for my server on starting dedicated but it just skips the internet checking process and when I go to join, my ping says --- and it just does Sending Challenge Request. It dosen't even show a challenge requesting on my Dedicated Server Console. Maybe the problem lies in my IP?

it just skips the internet checking process

It's supposed to do that.

what

what

I tried to disable UPnP and when I went to look at my server, still ---. What should I do? I checked Windows Firewall and it isn't blocking.

UPnP is not client-sided.

I checked Windows Firewall and it isn't blocking.

In what way?

I checked Windows Firewall and it isn't blocking.
disable it, if you have to port forward, your router already has a firewall.

Erm, what? No.

I need help now, tried everything I could.

change all the ports to 28000

the issue is

you're telling the router:
if you get packets on ports 28000 to 28000
send them to me but tell me they were sent on ports 28030 to 28030 instead

(triggered range and forwarded range)

disable it, if you have to port forward, your router already has a firewall.
You mean the router firewall right?

Please be a little more detailed. I don't know what you guys mean. I tried what you said but now its showing up as UPnP Discovery Failed and just it detected a router then it stops detecting for internet.
