Even if we did find a place with large amounts of ammunition and weaponry, there's a large chance the place would be absolutely swarming with crazies, like Jacov said. We also cannot gauge their intelligence, and therefore, we may have to deal with gunslinging crazies, which we are not equipped to even pick off from a distance, much less engage in a full-scale firefight. However, I'd bet there'd be ammunition in the police station, and in one of the gun stores. It's also likely that some of the store owners were packing, so looting the store counters might be a good idea. And then there's the military base, but that seems like a bad idea to storm."
