Narko wasn't trying to convert me. He was just arguing against certain points in the Bible.
No not him.

How would one explain ghosts? I mean, obviously there is no scientific way to explain them, but I don't get why someone would choose to wander around scaring the stuff out of people. This is more of directed to Hydra because you said you don't follow a religion.
They just want to man they just want to. My grandpas spirit pranked my friend before if that counts as anything.

Well, monsters don't exist either, but somehow they still manage to creep kiddies out (and maybe adults). Maybe its just the culture using certain concepts for entertainment and such.

does talking to my friend, losing my train of thought, failing to complete my sentence, and having an ice chest fall over count

Gnnn stupidity overload. Things have not "changed" the bible has been fundamentally the same since its creation. Your last reply *backs up* what I said, your first has nothing to do with the bible and is totally irrelevant, and your third ignores the fact that he is addressing slaves.

Good grief. This is 2012 and people still take this bible nonsense as fact. If this is how far human intellect has advanced in 2000 years then I have no hope for humanity.

The bible is filled with death and stupidity and taking it literally has caused massive killing, torture and even today supporting pseudoscience in public schools. You should not only feel stupid for taking the bible literally, but also to be ashamed.

I would honestly be cool with people believing in "the one true god" (and all other ideas of god make no sense!) if they didn't try to spread it everywhere and take it literally.

I faintly recall waking up in the middle of the night, sitting on my wooden chair, standing up and going for a drink. A loud crash proceeded, and the wooden chair toppled. While other things, wallets and such, were now in the centre table.
stuff was Reeeeeeal scary.

And I guess evolution is the most flawless theory ever created and is accepted as fact.

Evolution is backed up with a mountain of evidence. Even if it was to be scientifically debunked that still would not justify teaching divine magic tricks as an alternative. There are over 100 creation myths, an somehow the christian idea is more valid then all of those.

humans aren't from earth. we're from another planet in a distant galaxy far far away. (stargate reference)

yes, it's as solid as gravity.

This thread is now about religion.

Can we talk about GHOSTS now?

I must say, you've got a lot of faith and I'm sure it takes a lot to believe evolution.

Problem with another mans beliefs?

Religion is one thing.

But when it comes to ghosts, this topic really is just a case of one person's fantasy getting pissed on by people who know its bullstuff.

I don't consider Hydralisk as having an opinion, because he's just eating up videos he wants to be real. Thats not objective, or considered. And as far as I'm concerned, beliefs that cheap don't even deserve to be listened to.

Hydra has just stopped responding to me, which is no surprise. He can not compete because there is no real evidence for ghosts, and that is just fact. All so called evidence is easily faked (and usually really badly faked at that) or the testament of suggestible people who are easily spooked.

All the time you hear of so called "ghost evidence" being proven as hoaxes, or "ghost hunter" television shows being exposed for fraud. Its human nature to want to be part of something bigger, and thats exactly what ghost fantasies provide. Its also what alien conspiracy provides.

no, i don't believe with faith, i believe with rigorous testing and valid scientifically reason. you're basically saying "you need a lot of faith to believe in something that has been proven by testing many times."
