Author Topic: Camstudio in Fullscreen  (Read 2183 times)

I'm trying to make a video for camstudio in Minecraft. I wanted to try recording Minecraft in Fullscreen, although it doesn't seem to work. I set camstudio to record my screen and then hit f11, at first the video looked fine- until I hit f11. Then the whole video was just black. Is there any way to fix this?

Don't use camstudio

I would assume there are some resolution and recording area settings present in the program. There seems to be a plethora of CamStudio related Minecraft videos on YouTube: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IYAqMUAgq1U

If there was any other options, I would agree. But everything else either costs money I don't have, or is even worse.

And I know I can record Minecraft fine, it's just that it doesn't work in fullscreen

You don't need to even. Just record at 1280 x 720 resolution windowed and you're fine.

Do you know of any way to find the dimensions of the window? I thought of that at one point, but I wasn't sure when the window was the resolution I wanted since I don't think it said anywhere.

Try setting it to record the selected window

Well yeah, I do that. But I'm not sure if the window has the dimensions I want it to have.

You could get a freeware program named Sizer that you can use to set windows a certain size. You have to account for the fact that it sets the windows exactly the size you set it instead of the actual content, so 1280 x 720 is 1280 x 720 - size of window frame.

That could help- I'd just need to find out the dimensions of the windows frame then
