Bind left alt to spacebar with something like AutoHotkey, which is what I use for TF2 since my spacebar got worn out on my laptop. (I can't just rebind it ingame because then jump + scoreboard is alt + tab and obviously switches me out of the game.) I don't know how you type, but I always used the left corner of the spacebar anyway so it was a very small shift.

in what situation would you need to jump and see the scoreboard at the same time

although to be honest, I actually didn't notice how often I crouched and switched views at the same time in BL until I started using it in conjunction with Steam
