Author Topic: I had an out of body dream.  (Read 765 times)

Last night, i had a dream that i woke up in the ocean surfing without anyone else there.

I took off on a wave, and it started to barrel over me. I could only open one eye for some reason, and i couldn't see that well.

I started to come out of it after 5 seconds, but i shut both eyes. Then, it felt like my mind exploded and it looked like i was flying through space super fast, in first person.

Stars were rushing by and it felt indescribable, like i was one with the universe.

I asked my mom and she said it was a "I am" dream, or an out of body dream. She said this is what people who meditate try to achieve.

Has anyone else ever experienced this?

O bby dats hote

so you had a lucid dream?

...No...?

No, but it wasn't like a normal flying through space dream, it felt like i didn't have a body and i was part of space. It seriously felt like my mind had an climax

Anyways, seems cool.
Wish I had one like that.

How'd you do it?
By meditating by pure accident in sleep mode.

Well other people have had them too, i guess.

Quote
"Out of body" experiences (OBEs) are personal experiences
during which people feel as if they are perceiving the physical
world from a location outside of their physical bodies. At least
5 and perhaps as many as 35 of every 100 people have had an OBE
at least once in their lives (Blackmore, 1982). OBEs are highly
arousing; they can be either deeply disturbing or profoundly
moving. Understanding the nature of this widespread and potent
experience would no doubt help us better understand the
experience of being alive and human.

The simplest explanation is that OBEs are exactly what they
seem: the human consciousness separating from the human body and
traveling in a discorporate form in the physical world. Another
idea is that they are hallucinations, but this requires an
explanation of why so many people have the same delusion. Some of
our experiments have led us to consider the OBE as a natural
phenomenon arising out of normal brain processes. Thus, we
believe that the OBE is a mental event that happens to healthy
people.

like i was one with the universe

sounds like an ultra lie lol.
or just a cigarette

haha yeah that does sound pretty gay but that's what it felt like.
this is exactly what it felt like

Some of the experiences people have reported during sleep
paralysis are: "I feel completely removed from myself," "feeling
of being separated from my body," "eerie, rushing experiences,"
and hearing "hissing in the ears," and "roaring in the head."
These events appear to be much like the OBE sensations of
vibrations, strange noises, and drifting away from the physical
body

Aren't OBEs just lucid dreams on steroids?

Aren't OBEs just lucid dreams on steroids?

they are lucid dreams for people who cant describe what they felt, and think they are more special then just another dreamer.

Out of body is bullstuff and you're just out of your body within your dream dimension.
So you are dreaming about seeing yourself dream.
Inception is legit.
