But once again I don't understand your grasp on the bible. Do you stand for what it says, that god created the earth in seven days, and all the stories? Do you agree with all his rules? Some of them?
I'm not religious at all, so I couldn't answer your question, but when I was a faithful person, no not really. I mean, I thought all the science behind the whole universe being created was true, the Big Bang and all that, evolution yadda yadda. But what my main thought was that SOMETHING had to made that first particle, and because of my religious belief at the time, my thought was God. Sure, science exists, I'm not an ignorant fool, but why couldn't God exist as well? I knew that thunderstorms where the because of electrons in a cloud being attracted to the protons in the ground, I didn't think it was "gods wrath getting rid of the sinners" or something.
I think the main thing we're all seeing here is that all people that are religious have to follow everything right down to the very last word. That would be fine if it wasn't so close-minded and hateful (not the whole religion obviously). I can still be a Christian if I want to take the logical route and know that science is there and that God isn't doing everything. Sure, you wouldn't describe me as a down to earth Christian or a REAL Christian (as Bisjac has pointed out), but I'm still a Christian.
But now I've just lost my faith all together. If God is really the kind of person people view him as, why does he just sit back and expect everyone to like him, else he send them to hell? I think if I created the whole universe and then made lifeforms after my own image, I would do more for them then just act as a gatekeeper.
