No.

He's being stupid.
We know where the textures are located.
We want to use different ones with UCA.
Which go where I said.

Never mind, no use arguing with a stupid board.

Allow me to elaborate a bit,

with UCA, you don't include the base folder in the config\content\* path. He accidentally included base, and so it copied the files to base\base\* instead of base\*.

For instance, config\content\data\shapes\brickTOP.png copies to base\data\shapes\brickTOP.png. It just replaces config\client with base.

User Content Alpha does not make files "Read Only." It simply redirects the the place Blockland will check for whatever custom UIs or textures you may have. I have written a simple guide to replacing the brick textures, since this is what User Content Alpha is commonly used for.

Click the images for a full-sized version.

First, lets take a look at where the default brick textures are located. They are stored in Documents/Blockland/base/data/shapes/. This is important to know where they are located, you will need the folder names later on.

Before we do anything else, make sure you have placed Client_UserContent in your Add-Ons folder.

Now, go back to the main Blockland directory. From there, open the folder config.

Once you open the config folder, create a new folder titled content. This is the main folder that User Content Alpha uses.

Now this is where the folders I mentioned before come in place. You're going to want to recreate that set of folders. While still inside the content folder, create a new folder titled data.

Inside the newly created data folder, create another new folder titled shapes.

Finally, open up the shapes folder. This is where you will place your custom brick textures. The same goes for any other texture or UI replacements, it just varies on what folders they are in by default.

Hopefully this has helped create a better understanding on using User Content Alpha and replacing your brick textures without having to use a "Read Only" workaround - which I do not recommend.

Had this in Zack0's topic so people wouldn't get angry and confused on why it wasn't working.

Does this work in dedicated servers for anybody?

It's a client add-on, how you expect it to work on dedicated server?

Yes, it does.

Good thing you uploaded this here. I couldn't get it. 01110111 01110111 01110111 00101110 01101011 01101111 01101110 01100101 01110100 01110011 00101110 01110111 01101001 01101011 01101001 01100001 00101110 01100011 01101111 01101101

seems like i can't get this to work. there is no content folder in config, so then i created one. i then proceed to make a base folder inside of that, a data folder inside that one, and a shape folder inside of that one. the shape folder is where i put the new textures, but when i opened blockland, i saw no difference, i noticed there were still white lines in the dark.

Dont make a base folder :P

if you are the owner of a server, people now see your textures. i think this was an older update or it's been that way forever.

But it won't work on a dedicated server because client mods don't run.

At least Mold and otto-san know whereof they speak.
DEDICATED servers do not run client mods. Period.
This is a client mod with NO server.cs. It will not run on dedicated servers. Period.
