When someone trolls they want to make that person mad and get attention which is what he gave him, it's actually not that hard to ignore him.

Yes he needs to be a known idiot but it's not hard to ignore a troll.

I honestly don't see the problem with informing the general public of a troll if its not someone taking him seriously. If anything it will only help, seeing as it will stop other players from thinking this guy should be regarded seriously.
