He isn't hacking the server you or your friend is most likely playing a pirated version of Minecraft and your friend has server with the verify-names set to false.

If the server owner just turned on verify names then he wouldn't have a problem and also it would make it a spot for only legitimate buyers of Minecraft to play rather then a spot for pirates.

Also if the server owner just types /banip rather then just /ban he wouldn't have a problem. (I highly doubt the user "Hacking" their server is using a proxy.)

It's easily possible to DDoS, hell, people do it all the time in Garrys Mod, play the game for a considerable amount of time if you don't believe me.

What if they are typing /banip and the hacker is using a proxy?
People blacklist proxies so stuff like that doesn't happen.
Hell, I am considering on blacklisting proxies from my forum because... big penors...

Because normally it's verified with the minecraft.net server.

I know it's easy to get access to DDoS tools. However, the admins on this server are acting pathetic. You don't worship some kid that comes onto your server and threatens "lol im gun ddos u if u dnot do wat i sey!!!".
