But you would eventually run out of supplies so you would either scout for supplies and get infected or starve/die of thirst.

I assume it would be a very small outbreak. The way to get water is to fill the tub(s) and sinks with water, and have a stockpile of food. Rescue and/or complete demolition of the zombies will most likely happen before the food and water runs out.

Exactly. Nobody wants to watch the world fall apart. But people just want to share their stories and ideas on what they would do, what would happen etc. There's a difference between "forget yeah, I hope this happens sometime soon!" and "Oh man, that'd be awful. What would you do?"
