Author Topic: My router slows down to a crawl ~once per day  (Read 1299 times)

That is, my ping skyrockets to like 3s for a while and then it returns to normal. It has been like this for a while now. Yes, I have the latest firmware.

I've got an ASUS RT-N56U, any suggestions for fixing it?

I recomend turning it off for a few hours/days.

If that doesnt work, you should contact your support for the router.

You mean a crawl...
Yes, sorry. I was tired and it's fixed now.

Not really an option for me. I have, however, already tried turning it off for shorter periods of time.

"a while" being how long?

It could be that it's overheating

When that happens, yes. Otherwise, no.

Maybe 5-10 minutes or so.
Does it happen at the same time every day?

Did you re-write the firmware yourself in Python?

Not really.

No. :cookieMonster:

Your router supports cron script right?  Write a script to restart it at like 2AM daily. I restart my router about once per week, I see a boost when I do.

When routers do things like this they are usually lemons.
