Ok, so this is my first time doing this. And I have no idea what I'm doing. So play nice, and uhm... help me please.

This is what I at my house: I have a display, keyboard and a mouse at my house.I just need the comp itself. This is what I have picked out so far online to purchase. I am pretty sure they will all work together as Nexus has helped me pick... all of them... out. I mostly need help picking out a case.

Hard Drive:
[89.99]

Power Supply:
[29.99]

RAM:
[39.99]

Graphics Card:
[79.99]

Processor:
[159.99]

Motherboard:
[79.99]

Case:
[53.95]

Total= $533.89

My overall goal/aim is to lower the total price to less than or about $500.

Thanks to Trymos who alerted me to PCPartpicker.com

It seems that I have built a computer here that is cheaper, and better than what I have build above.

I should mention this in the topic. I have a display, keyboard and a mouse at my house.I just need the comp itself.

Motherboard and processor are incompatible.

EDIT: Memory and motherboard are incompatible.

Motherboard and processor are incompatible.

EDIT: Memory and motherboard are incompatible.

All three are incompatible or just Memory and Motherboard?

Motherboard claims memory standard to be: DDR3 1600/1333/1066
And the RAM chips are DDr3 1333
Motherboard also has 240 pinslots(x4)
The RAM chips are 240 pin chips

So... call me stupid. But I am failing to the the issue here..

Ok, I saw the issue with the processor and I fixed it with this one, tell me if I'm wrong here.

The CPU's socket is 1156, whereas your motherboard is 1155.

This looks like a pretty decent motherboard for a similar price, and will work with the other hardware you have.

May I also recommend you spend more money on your power supply.

I'm trying o cut down on the spending.

I'd like to have a 6Gb/s bus speed.

New motherboard and cut the price by 15 dollars. Yes. Now just another few to go.

Is there a cheaper i5 anywhere?

IMO it'd be better to replace the CPU instead; you can get an i5 2300 for the same price as the one listed in the OP. It's a newer architecture, meaning it's slightly faster per clock.

But will it fit the motherboard?

EDIT: Brought the processor down by 20 bucks.

EDIT 2: Wrong CPU. Back up.

EDIT 3: I got confused!  Brought the processor down by 20 bucks.

If you are going with the motherboard in the OP, make sure you look in the details section of CPUs look for the socket, if it's "1155" then it will fit.

Is my HD compatible with my motherboard?

Is my HD compatible with my motherboard?

Yes, all SATA is backwards compatible.

Also, I didn't notice you changed the motherboard - for the foxconn one, the processor needs to be socket 1156.

I know it seems as if I'm relying on you guys, which I am, but I found a whole list of affordable towers here for me and I was wondering what I should factor in to choose one..
