Yes, yes I understand however keep in mind that if you sent grams a link to a 5 min Youtube video, and she watches it, that equates as "downloading", a 5 min youtube video in standard (.flv) format is about 4-9 megabytes. The video banners that automatically pop up all over the web, are also considered "downloading". Heck a .PNG signature card in an email is considered an "upload" and "download". More importantly

Yes it's faster than dial-up yes but not by much, and they say you can download as much as you want from 2AM to 7AM. It's 10:05PM now at the time I'm typing this, and the FAP Download limit is on, I have nothing to do, Steam games take 5 minutes to launch, it's very annoying.

That really compounds the problem. I am looking into T-1 but it looks like that is about $400 a month. They just have us by the throat

I’m glad to see others feelt he same way I do. Hughesnet is a bad company. When I called to sign up not understanding anything about the internet. They asked me what I will be using it mostly for. I told them my kids will be using it for Youtube, F/B, Games, and movies. They did not tell me I wouldn’t be able to use those things w/out draining the threshold. Like I even knew what that meant. You can bet your ass I found out quick what all that crap about FAP and thresholds meant. FU HUGHESNET. My kids can’t even watch Youtube, which defeated the whold purpose of why I got the internet in the first place. I have none year left with them and then I am done and will continue to pass the word on that it sucks.

Yes hughesnet has bad ratings across the board, what’s even funnier is if you watch the commercial closely, the lady in the commercial actually downloads a “cd” worth of music, which under the FAP is slightly under your daily usage limit, pretty shady!

I'm not crying out to you guys for 'help' I know you can't help me, but I'm making this topic for whoever is thinking about going with HughesNet.
I hate this company, and my dad signed a one year contract for us to stay with them, if you're thinking about switching with them, think twice.
