Unfortunately, as I turned 16 today, I wasn't able to get my license today. After waiting for a couple hours in the DMV after we got all the paperwork and insurance and stuff out of the way as we went outside to begin the driving test(i didn't have this one sheet that you get for going to a normal public school driver's ed) we realized my dad's truck didn't have it's front plate on so we couldn't take that. As we were going to leave we thought about driving over to our business and getting my brother's car and just use that. Then I remembered it didn't have a horn, so that was out of the question. Now we have to go either Tuesday, when it's super busy, or Wednesday. So I am sad. I texted one of my friends who turned 16 four days ago who also couldn't get his because he was sick and he was happy because I couldn't brag about my height and getting my license first :C

But oh well, I can't wait until tues/wed to get my driver's license.
Also gimme gifts

Over here you have to do 120 hours of logged driving before you can even go for the test, so think yourself lucky

i didnt get mine till i was 19. didnt need one till i got my first car.
i failed my first road test for driving through a yield sign.
and had there not been a truck at that time i needed to yield to, it wouldnt have mattered. (no i didnt hit the truck)

lol that sucks

in Illinois you only have to do 50, 10 of which being night time hours.

I got my license on the first try but the bitch still gave me points because some dumb ass jumped out of their car and went in the road without looking forcing me to stop the car in a weird spot to not hit them. Like Bisjac I didn't bother getting my license until I was mid-18 when I actually had my own car.

It's not even a requirement, I brought the sheet up and she just handed it back to me and said they didn't really need it.

I actually don't mind, it will be nice to have but I'm not going to get a car until I actually need one. The main reason I'm getting it so soon is so I can help my mom out and whatnot since she had a surgery and can't do anything when my dad and brother are out. I also don't really have anywhere to go, either. Most of my friends just come over whenever so there's no need for me to go over there.

Same here

in fact the lady didn't even ask to see it so I just threw it away at the DMV lol

I got my license through my school and my test consisted of leaving the school driving 15 seconds down the road to the other entrance and parallel parking. I was guided through the parking too

i should have my license in 19 days, but i wont because my mom didnt let me do drivers ed during the schoolyear.

loving sucks knowing i should have it but wont for another two months

ive driven for years. i been in small towns, to downtown of major cities.

i have never in my life had to parallel park.

age 14
study
take test
get permit
drivers ed for 2 weeks
50 hours daylight driving, 10 hours night
age 16

So you can have more than 1 friend in the car? Otherwise it's restricted lol

When I've been shopping with my dad (Which happens rarely) we have parallel parked almost every time.

I'm actually going to start my driving school tomorrow.
