Basically a social network with features from all three social networks mentioned in the title:
 - hashtags (Tumblr/Twitter)
 - reshares (Tumblr/Twitter, "reblog" originally)
 - mentions (Twitter)
 - love (Facebook/Tumblr, "like" originally)

It also integrates all three social networks, allowing you to post on them with just Diaspora.
Also, you can either use one of the servers ("pods") to do things on Diaspora, or instead host one yourself (Blockland pod incoming dingdingding)

Also, you get to talk to people that use different pods on Diaspora and it's community powered AND opensource.
