I'm no geologist but if I had to make a guess I'd say a whole lot of them were formed deep in the earth then rose to the top with magma, to my understanding this is how such a crater would form. Since the diamonds are so spaced, there's really no reason why they would dig for them. Let tourists pay; you'll make triple the killing.

it's actually just like a field I don't know why they call it "crater"

why do state park websites almost always suck?

Diamonds only have value because of filthy Jewish tactics. Most diamonds end up in industrial cutting blades and drill bits.

It's also full of other gems, so if you don't find a diamond you'll find something.

Also sounds really boring, go somewhere nicer

Here you can experience a one-of-a-kind adventure hunting for real diamonds. You'll search over a 37 1/2-acre plowed field, the eroded surface of an ancient volcanic crater that 100 million years ago brought to the surface the diamonds and some of the semi-precious stones lucky visitors find here today.

I think it's exciting but we're also going to shady lake state park thing I've been  there before and it's really nice

Just don't pick up anything you're unsure of. Considering how many kids are spammed across the website, I'd assume not everything in the dig sites is very sanitary.

IF I GO HERE IM GOING TO BE

RICH

-snip-
probably not

it's not as if the diamonds are huge gems just lying everywhere

it's probably mostly just tiny ones scattered very sparsely

in fact i can almost guarantee you it's the latter
