Author Topic: Axolotl's Tekkit Builds  (Read 2966 times)

I can't stand Tekkit, frankly. There's just too much stuff that serves no real purpose aside from automation; likewise with the full Redpower suite, even. I'm all for doing less work but it just feels bloated as hell, I like vanilla minecraft.

I personally only use a fairly minimal suite of mods:
- Smart Moving, because new animations and easier to get around sans stack of dirt or ladders.
- Redpower Wiring & Logic (+ Microblocks), allows some new ways of building and easier wiring, plus all the common gates you'd have to build by hand are single blocks using the Logic module.
- Inficraft Blocks, because the new stone tiles and stuff from chiselling are lovey.
- Flora & Soma, because BLUEBERRIES and new trees and stuff. What's not to like?
- Backpacks, to allow me to cart more stuff around and organize myself better.
- Not Enough Items (NEI), because I dislike TooManyItems' look. NEI fits in better and provides the same or better functionality.

That's about it, aside from dependencies (Modloader, 4096fix, Forge 3.1.2.90, Audiomod etc the usual). I launch this through MultiMC so it manages the mods for me, saves on effort installing them all every time. If I really had to cut it down to one of these mods it'd be Smart Moving hands down.
Used to use Mo' Creatures but they all had no real purpose. Horses and stuff didn't even drop leather or anything and the cat beds and fishbowls were just horrid. Love the idea, and the world does feel genuinely quite empty without it, but it feels a bit out of place sometimes.

I tried this in two ways
http://i840.photobucket.com/albums/zz330/ODST_John/2012-06-16_045247.png[/img

http://i840.photobucket.com/albums/zz330/ODST_John/2012-06-16_045256.png[/img

the wire below the lever's just there to show you it's on
the top way's the closest I could get to the way you said you were doing it, because you can't put a wire on the in-side of a panel
the bottom's the only other way I could think of doing it without normal blocks
I think you'll just have to stick with the regular way:

http://i840.photobucket.com/albums/zz330/ODST_John/2012-06-16_045446.png[/img

unless of course, my mod's just broken and you're actually supposed to be able to place wire on that side of the panels :I

maybe use covers?

maybe use covers?
I tried using covers, as well as the half-block slabs
still couldn't place the wire on either of them, and I couldn't even place wire on the top of the grass block under the slab

I guess I should've taken the picture from behind the blocks. but w/e, it's not even necessary in the first place

what? what advice?
and what do solar panels have to do with this?
There is no room to put the wire on top of--oh, I see.

There is no room to put the wire on top of--oh, I see.
I don't

what are you talking about? why are you using solar panels for that? solar panels don't create the red power do they? they only make the blue power, right?

they most certainly do not

so what are you using solar panels for?
