Start with Milkshape, it's easier to use

You can use SketchUp for Blockland modeling. MilkShape costs money.

Sketch Up good for starting, but you will start to be a pain after a while

Milkshape is better for beginners. When I first started modeling, I couldn't figure out how to make a single face in Blender.

there's a somewhat long video on blender on how to use it, but it is extremely easy to follow.
