Recently, my brother bought me a huge box of magic: the gathering cards, and taught me how to play with his own cards. I enjoyed it, and am considering making my own decks. What's a good color or colors to play for someone new to the game?

White is right.
What sort of white cards should I put in my deck?

Fah! Really, I never see anyone else around me interested in MtG.

To have the most fun out of it find cards that seem really badass and build a deck around it's abilities.

Also..

Angels, man.

White has many different themes. Too many, actualy. That's why I say find cards that stand out to you first.

The recent mirrodin white cards are pretty cool.

So would a mixture of red and white be good?

Any card that features a strong, confident, and fair skinned character.

My deck is a white artifact deck. Zerg the enemy with stuffloads of myr at the start then overwhelm with large creatures later. Fun fun.

By chance, does that include unicorns?

Don't artifacts need a ton of lands to use?

Myr are good mana ramps. I end up having more land then I need.

Edit:
Of course.
I've only seen one unicorn and it's the one that makes are your able stuff block it. Green is OP.

Red is just a fairly good deck,
you can have 4 lightning strikes for 3 damage for 1 red mana.

So what exactly is a Myr?

But red has no monsters to block attacks with???

Yeah, Red is the easiest deck to play. If you like that complicated thinking then go Black. Blue never seems to work out to me.

Green and white are mostly defensive. It all depends on your play style.

A myr is just a type of artifact creature.
