I don't think it's luck
probably has something to do with having my password remembered by the program?
I know that you have to have your password saved with it to start steam in offline mode

I haven't met one person who doesn't have Steam set to auto start and log in when the computer starts.

Hi

I haven't met one person who doesn't have Steam set to auto start and log in when the computer starts.
Mine starts on auto start, but not log in.
If I wasn't lazy, I'd turn auto start off too.

wtf

I loving hate that.
What's even worse is that my internet connection is so slow it never connects successfully.
Except once recently. Ask Alyx :cookieMonster:

I don't
I don't have it set to start when the computer does
if I lose internet connection, it automatically switches to offline mode without problems
if I start it without internet, it starts in offline mode without problems
always

You have now.

I don't have anything set to "remember me" anymore minus a few things I'm not worried about being hi-jacked because if someone gets hold of your computer somehow then you have to frantically change your passwords from another computer. SteamGuard won't do stuff if you've got your browser set to remember your email password. I assure you it's not a fun experience.

The biggest and for me only problem with Steam atm.

Just restart it. If you have it set to remember your password then it should ask you whether you want to go into offline mode or retry.

You now met like three or more people.
Including me.
I hate auto-starting programs.

But you can't log in when you have no internet right? :X
And even if you can, you can't play like a lot of your games. :C

All single-player games work fine. It only works if auto-login is on.

You're friends with Lamebro but you defriended me?

Hello.
I don't like anything auto starting. I don't like anything auto logging. I don't like anything remembering passwords for me.

It's not a paranoia thing either. If I want to use steam, I'll open steam. If I want to use my account on steam, I'll log into my account. If I want to log into my account, I'll type my username and password. There's also situations when someone else wants to use my computer. I don't want them to have to deal with a bunch of auto-login crap. I get sick of having a bunch of crap start up and log in when I'm trying to fix someone's computer which sometimes requires multiple restarts. Then all their friends are like "wtf get off my friends computer she's not even home who are you?" and crap like that.

I've never had a problem with Steam. Not even offline mode.
