Cannot run Steam on Mac?

Everytime I run the .dmg and place it in applications, then open it I get this:

yeah i would if it would loving open.

i click on the steam icon and get that. i don't understand why it's running it in offline mode or how to run it in online mode.

well if updating is what it wants. reinstall it, at least its a fresh version

I had this before and then reinstalled it. This is the version I just installed.

take your steamapps folder out (If you have Games you dont want to lose) and reinstall again?
