But not playable.

I'd like both versions if combined so that it uses the Sybrae keyboard for sound and the dimitry body for looks, then you would have the best BL piano.
Will do.

How about this one:

It's not a grand piano, but it looks nice AND is playable.
If you want a grand piano, how about this one:

Technically it's a harpsichord. But that's my best offer.
Both instruments are playable.

Looks nice, but not at scale to a player.

setScale=2
:D

But seriously, you can't make a proper piano with the current brick sizes. The keys will always appear much too large compared to the brickhead... If you want a piano with more than one octave, this is the smallest solution.

Solution: piano brick with events that when the person playing it types "A", it plays an A.  Seems easy.

Wow.  That just got me thinking of a new addon.

It would be limited but could work.

In the text bar, type in /piano "2G 2F 4Eb 2G 2F 4Eb 1Eb 1Eb 1Eb 1Eb 1F 1F 1F 1F 2G 2F 4Eb"

The piano addon would then play the notes as described, I used 1s as eighth notes, 2s as quarter notes, and 4s as half notes.  This could be a new way of making music on Blockland.

Other commands that could be used could be /piano *(90) #(4/4) "2G..." *for tempo and #for time signature.  This could be an epic addon

Sounds fancy. I don't understand it but that's all good.

-snip-
Sounds nice, but wouldn't that mean that the piano is practically unplayable? If I understood you right, it would depend on how fast the user can type the notes in chat.

How about an addon that recognizes input through the keyboard and plays notes corresponding to the key pressed? For example, if the user presses the button "A" on his keyboard, the note C would be played. The key "S" would be Cs, "D" would be D, "F" would be Ds and so on.

How about this one:

That one is my favorite so far. It doesn't cheat for the keys, and still looks very very good. The fact that it doesn't cheat for the keys, makes it that much better.

Who cares about scale. It's about how it looks.

I wouldn't call using print keys 'cheating', that's what they were made for. If I used big bricks like that, yes it would make it somewhat playable, but scale with the keys would be off. I am heading for a realistic look.

The lower strings are generally Copper.

Ya, I thought about it this way, but it might be difficult to make something that forces the player into a state where presseing the A key to make a piano sound doesn't also make them go left

Yeah, it might be a bit "hacky". Maybe a new playertype?

Or a GUI

It's decent, just needs some more Grand Piano style lol
